Father's Day '14

Our Father's Day was pretty relaxed and low-key this year. Sam got his obligatory morning to sleep in, and man, did he really sleep in. I have never known Sam to sleep past like 8:30-9:00am unless we had been out super late "back in the day!" For sure once we have had kids, he's never slept past then, but yesterday morning, he slept until 10:00. In fact, Quinn was already waking up from his morning nap when Daddy decided to wake up as well. Mommy, on the other hand, had been up since 5:00 with a sleepless infant. (Mr. Quinn must have just wanted to make sure Daddy was truly getting his gift of sleep.)

Once Daddy was up and fed and "coffeed," we got packed up and ready to go to Mom and Bob's for the afternoon. Once there, we exchanged cards and small gifts for Papa and for Sam. (I had made little Shrinky Dink key chains for them and the other dads/uncles.) Then, we snacked and fed the boys, and then we got in the pool - which was also Quinn's first swim! He LOVED it. Once he got past the tickling of the cold water, he was splishing and splashing and wiggling through the water. Then, once the boys were down for nap, Sam, Bob, Mom, and I ate lunch. After nap, we got in the pool again, and before long, we were heading out to meet Zaide and Vicki at our house for dinner. We ordered Cowboy Chicken - delicious!- and Banner got to "pretend drive" Zaide's truck. Lots of fun!

Banner brought home this early Father's Day gift from camp. Too precious!

Sam's card - couldn't pass up Batman
Mom found these mugs for Sam - what he and his mom used to say to each other, and what he now tells the boys
"Happy Fahver's Day, Papa!"
Quinn really wanted to get in there with them!

First swim!
Just loungin!
Kicking his feet and loving it!
And then, some love for Mommy, too! Drooling all over me with his open-mouth kisses!

Happy Father's Day!
